Derrick McKenzie - Jamiroquai

Although Derrick did not get his first drumset until the age of 18, he picked up sticks at the age of 7 and spent the next 11 years seriously practicing at home. Derrick spent many years playing semi-professionally with a number of bands and getting involved with session work.

In the mid 90’s Derrick joined a young hotly tipped band Jamiroquai and with his groove at the helm the band quickly rose to the top of the charts throughout the world and Derrick and Jamiroquai been touring and recording ever since.

Derrick plays a Yamaha Birch Custom Absolute.
